Keep Growing

Private therapy based in Manchester city centre

Corinna Hornsby-Walsh

Hi! I'm Corinna, a BACP-registered and fully qualified therapist. I offer sessions both online and face-to-face in central Manchester.

Are you feeling like you need some extra support, or wondering if you could benefit from a safe space where you can explore what's going on for you? Looking for a counsellor can be quite daunting – I fully understand that, as I’ve done it myself! Clients have often told me that whilst reaching out for help was difficult, they’re really glad they did it.

Too often, therapy can feel formal, stuffy, clinical or shrouded in mystery. I don't think it has to be this way - counselling is ultimately a connection between two humans. My mission is to provide you with the compassion and support you need to overcome the challenges you're facing and move forwards.

If you think I could be a good fit for you, I'd love to hear from you. I offer a free initial consultation so you can decide if you want to work with me.

About

My Story

My journey as a therapist began in 2018 when I realised how much I enjoy helping people to grow and overcome the challenges they’re facing. The deeper I went into my training, the more I realised that this was the path I wanted to follow, so I left my job in education to focus on providing private therapy.

I'm a BACP registered and fully qualified therapist with an MSc in Counselling & Psychotherapy (Distinction). Over the years, I’ve provided counselling in various settings, including with survivors of domestic abuse, for an LGBTQ+ counselling service and with adults in Greater Manchester who are experiencing all different kinds of issues. I’ve learned from every client I’ve worked with and I'm committed to growing professionally through supervision and self-development - the journey never ends!

I often work with clients in their 20s/30s and LGBTQ+ people, though I enjoy working with adults from various age groups and backgrounds. Having the opportunity to connect and work with so many different people, and helping them on their own individual journeys, is one of the things I really enjoy about my work.

When I'm not working, you'll likely find me browsing bookshelves, being a very average plant mum, spending time outside or nerding out over a playlist.

How can I help you?

Maybe you’re feeling down or anxious at the moment, like you’ve lost your way. Perhaps you’re going through a process of change and it all feels a bit overwhelming - or you're stuck but you don't know how to move forwards.

I’ll work with you to come to a deeper understanding of the challenges or difficulties you’re experiencing. We’ll identify new perspectives or approaches that can help you move forwards and which will empower you to make positive changes in your life.

I’ve successfully worked with people facing all different kinds of challenges over the years. To name just a few:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Stress

  • Loss

  • Relationship issues

  • Family issues

  • Self-compassion and low self-esteem

Clients have described me as compassionate, nonjudgmental and supportive. I care hugely about the clients I work with and, especially in these isolated times, I think it’s the relationship we build together that makes the biggest difference in therapy. Sometimes we all need a safe space where we can heal our wounds, speak openly about what’s going on for us and be supported through difficult times, without worrying that we’ll be judged or shamed.

I think counselling works best when there's a good balance of support and challenge, so this is something I'll try to offer you. Every client is unique, so I’ll always tailor my approach to make your sessions work best for you.
